The Roller Derby bout will mark just the second ever appearance of the sport in Cheyenne. The Rocky Mountain Rollergirls made their Capital City debut in April in front of a raucous crowd at the Taco John’s Events Center. The Rocky Mountain Rollergirls will put their #17 WFTDA National Ranking on the line against the Derby Girls of Ft. Wayne (http://www.fwderbygirls.com/).

Admission for the return of Roller Derby is just $13 in advance or $15 at the door. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult admission. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, July 16th. All seating is general admission, including track-side seating (Track-side seating is limited to patrons ages 15 and older for safety reasons). Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. with the roller derby bout starting at 7:00 p.m.

Following the bout, the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls will host an after-party at C.B. & Potts, located at 1650 Dell Range Blvd. Fans can meet the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls up close during the after-party and C.B. & Potts will be offering various drink specials throughout the evening.

The Rocky Mountain Rollergirls (RMRG) are Denver’s original female flat track Roller Derby league. RMRG are sanctioned by the WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) and they interleague bout other teams on a national level. The Rocky Mountain Rollergirls are a band of feisty, athletic, strong-minded women who have been taking Denver by storm since August 2004.

The WFTDA has helped revive the sport of roller derby that flourished in the 50s and 60s before fading away in the late 70s. Since its rejuvenation in 2001, there are over 30 established leagues competing within the WFTDA and hundreds more starting up across the United States.
